Saradharam’s Lakshmi Vilas Heritage Hotel is housed in traditional landlord’s bungalow (Pannaiyar Veedu) built in the mid nineteenth century (1850s). The complex consisted of the main terraced bungalow for the Pannaiyar’s family and two separate tiled domestic quarters for the staff and farm hands along with a big cattle shelter on 4.5 acres of private property surrounded with lemon, sapota, mango and coconut orchards. The original bungalow which currently houses the reception and the restaurant was modernised in the year 1943. The domestic quarters and the cattle shed were demolished and new rooms constructed in the year 2009 replicating the chola period architecture. The property has been in possession with the family for over eight generations now.
Saradharam’s Lakshmi Vilas Heritage Hotel is a rare blend of ethnic elegance and hospitality par excellence, true to the culture, heritage and tradition of the Tamil people.
Come, get pampered like the real landlord, re-live, re-vitalize and prepared to be charmed by the truly innocent village life
